The O.W.N. sole plate is a revolutionary new plate technology that gives riders mountain bike pedal compatibility with SPD systems while transferring power directly to the pedals, removing the discomfort often found in traditional cycling shoes. The O.W.N. sole plate is fully hidden inside the midsole chamber, reducing contact between the SPD cleat and the ground for smoother walking on everyday surfaces.

The full range is designed and manufactured in Germany by a leading global footwear laboratory.
The first casual shoe designed specifically for urban riding. Wear it on any journey, to the office, café, or club. It is made for riding, walking, jumping, and dancing wherever you go.
Former Adidas Creative Director James Carnes used more than 20 years of experience in sneaker and running shoe design to develop the TRANSIT cycling shoe for CHPT3.
This model is designed specifically for mountain bike SPD pedal systems and is suitable for a wide range of mountain bike clipless pedals. It is not intended for road bike pedal systems.
The upper of the CHPT3 Transit shoe is made from premium natural leather. While leather does offer a certain degree of natural water resistance, it is not waterproof.
Long exposure to water or heavy rain may damage the shoes. However, they can handle light rain or small amounts of water. To help protect the shoes from damage, we recommend using a water-repellent spray and avoiding long exposure to rain.
TRANSIT uses The O.W.N. technology, a revolutionary new plate technology that provides mountain bike pedal compatibility with SPD systems and transfers power directly to the pedals, while removing the discomfort usually found in traditional cycling shoes.
Almost all clip-in cycling shoes use a full-length sole plate to create the stiffness required for riding. This gives urban commuting cycling shoes strong riding performance, but makes them difficult to wear all day. CHPT3 Transit is designed to give you the performance of a cycling shoe with the comfort of a premium sneaker. The SPD cleat is hidden inside the midsole to eliminate annoying noise, allowing you to wear the shoe all day without feeling like you are wearing a cycling shoe.
You can use these shoes for gravel riding, especially when you have another destination afterward, such as going to a restaurant, taking a walk, or visiting a place, since you can walk comfortably without changing shoes.
CHPT3 Transit sneakers are not designed as pure performance cycling shoes. If you are looking for high-speed gravel riding performance, we recommend wearing a more specialized cycling shoe.
CHPT3 Transit shoes are designed for all-day riding and walking.
Whether you are on the road, going to the office, heading to a café, or socializing, you can ride, walk, jump, and dance anywhere. Flat pedal and SPD compatibility, a flexible sole, sneaker-like comfort, and a high-grip outsole make the shoes ready for everyday use.
Although you can wear the flat pedal version as a premium sneaker, it is actually designed for urban commuting.
It features an optimized reinforced anti-slip outsole. Contact between the sole and the ground also helps increase braking control, giving you a more relaxed and confident feel on the bike.
You will need to purchase SPD pedals and use SPD cleats for the SPD-compatible shoe model in order to take full advantage of the shoe, just like with standard cycling shoes.
The clipless shoe model is compatible with SPD pedals. If your pedal system is SPD, you can use it with confidence.
Please consult your local bicycle dealer to confirm which pedal systems are suitable.
The shoe surface is made from premium leather. To help protect the shoes from water damage, we recommend using a water-repellent spray and avoiding long exposure to water.
To care for your shoes, follow these steps:
Regularly clean the leather surface with a damp cloth or soft brush to remove dirt.
Avoid getting the leather wet whenever possible. If it does get wet, allow it to air dry naturally.
Use a water-repellent spray or wax to protect the leather from water damage.
Store the sneakers in a cool, dry place to prevent the leather from drying out and cracking.
If the shoes become dirty, use a mild leather cleaner.
CHPT3 Transit shoes were designed by James Carnes, former Global Creative Director at Adidas.
James used more than 20 years of experience in sneaker and athletic shoe design to rethink urban cycling footwear. CHPT3 Transit sneakers were designed and produced in collaboration between his sneaker brand Priority Athletic and CHPT3. James is also a co-owner of CHPT3.
CHPT3 Transit shoes were launched in collaboration with sneaker brand Priority Athletic.
The brand was co-founded by James Carnes and Mikkel B. Rasmussen, both partners of CHPT3. Priority Athletic is a new sneaker brand that creates premium athleisure footwear with a human-centered design approach for people who want to live an active lifestyle. CHPT3 Transit is the brand’s first representative release. Priority Athletic planned to launch a luxury running shoe named Supernatural in autumn 2023.
Thermaltake Bicycle is the appointed partner for Taiwan and Asia.
At CHPT3, we are committed to making our products as sustainable as possible while maintaining high performance standards.
CHPT3 Transit shoes are created together with our partners at a footwear laboratory in Germany. The laboratory follows strict German labor laws and is firmly committed to ethical practices.
The midsole is made from high-performance but non-sustainable PU material. We considered using green bio-based PU, but testing showed that green bio-based PU did not yet meet our standards for high-performance footwear. We are looking for more sustainable solutions for upcoming Transit shoe models.
The upper is made from premium leather, an agricultural by-product referred to as vegetable leather, and the leather we use is chrome-free.
